How to access the Windows Explorer Quickly
Normally when I say to my clients "please open explorer" I often get some comment about Google appearing and then I realise that most end users associate the word "Explorer" with the Internet Explorer or IE as IT people tend to call it which is the application most Windows users use to access the internet. So to be clear Windows Explorer looks like this:
In Windows 7 and Vista it looks like this:
In Windows XP it looks Like the following:

To quickly get to the Windows Explorer in any Windows version press the Windows flag key and the letter "E" together. Because the Windows flag key is technically a shift key it can be pressed and held down without any adverse effect. Whilst you have the flag key down tap the letter E and then let go of both. CAUTION: if you hold down the "E" key it will eventually start to repeat after about half a second and then you will be generating rapid fire Windows Key + E presses, this will result in hundreds of Explorer's being opened. So only tap the "E" key once then let go of both keys.
